Alternative to Resin for Dice Making | Jesmonite: My New Eco-Friendly Obsession

As a dice maker and a mold maker, I'm always on the lookout for ways to make our craft more sustainable.

That's why I've been actively exploring eco-friendly options that work beautifully with my existing molds.

I've found a winner:  Jesmonite.

If you haven't heard of Jesmonite, consider this your official introduction.

This material is a water-based, acrylic modified gypsum composite - which is a total game changer for anyone worried about harsh chemicals.

It's water-based nature means I don't have to deal with harsh solvents or noxious fumes.
However, with any powdered material, proper ventilation and a dust mask are still required during mixing to avoid inhaling fine dust.

Plus it's a composite material, so it's incredibly versatile, allowing for all sorts of creative possibilities.

What truly sets Jesmonite apart for me is it's stunning, natural stone-like finish, you can also add colorants too.

It gives dice a unique, organic feel that's perfect for those nature-inspired sets.

I've been able to achieve some truly remarkable looks, and the dice have a satisfying weight that players appreciate.

Honestly I'm thrilled with the results I've been getting with Jesmonite so far.

I'd love to see what you create with Jesmonite!

If you give it a try for your dice or other crafts, be sure to tag me on social media so I can admire your beautiful creations! I'm @nanolabmaker basically everywhere.
