Ingredients:
• ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
• ¾ cup (150g) light brown sugar, packed
• 1 large egg (about 50g without shell)
• 1 teaspoon (5g) vanilla extract
• 1¼ cups (160g) all-purpose flour
• ½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon (1g) salt
• 1 cup (175g) mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) {340°F our oven} Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and light brown sugar together until creamy and fluffy.
3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
6. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
7. Portion Dough: Scoop the dough into small balls, about 25g each (or a heaped tablespoon), and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 5cm between each ball.
8. Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear soft, but they will set as the cookies cool.
9. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
